What Are Goldbacks?
Goldbacks are a voluntary, local currency made from a thin layer of 24-karat gold embedded between layers of polyester film. Each note contains a precise, verifiable amount of gold — ranging from 1/4000th of a troy ounce (1/4 Goldback) up to 1/20th of a troy ounce (50 Goldbacks).
Unlike gold coins or bars, Goldbacks are designed for everyday transactions. Their small denominations make them practical for purchases of any size, and their beauty — featuring intricate artwork representing the virtues — makes them a collector's item in their own right.
Goldbacks are currently issued for several U.S. states including Utah, Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, South Dakota, and others, with each series featuring unique state-themed artwork.

You can pay with Goldbacks in person when you visit us at the Buffalo Numismatic Association Monthly Coin Show at our booth/table. This is a great opportunity to use your Goldbacks face-to-face, browse our table, and make a deal on the spot.
Goldbacks can be exchanged at a 1:1 ratio for any goldbacks (outside of speciality or graded)I have in stock at the show. Any other item you wish to purchase utilizing goldbacks will be calculated utilizing the official Goldback calculator/app linked directly to the official Goldback website.

Contact Us First

Agree on the Exchange Rate
We'll agree on a fair spot-based exchange rate for the Goldbacks at the time of the transaction, ensuring both parties get a transparent deal.
Complete the Transaction
Ship your Goldbacks to us or arrange an in-person exchange at the coin show. Once received and verified, we'll complete your order promptly.
